On Wednesday, 3/4/2019, the B1 and B2 sections of the Specialty of the Guard of Museums and Archaeological Sites of the Public Vocational Training Institute of Patras held an educational visit to Etoliko with accompanying adult trainers Mrs. Karaindrou Konstantina and Mr. Soules Ioannis. Initially, they visited the Museum of Engraving “Vaso Katraki”. There they were guided by the local engraver and painter Michalis Kotsaris and they came in contact with works of art of pan-Hellenic and international recognition. At the same time, they attended live classes in the museum’s engraving and weaving workshops. Then they traveled to the Folklore Museum of Etoliko, where they met aspects of local traditional art and lifestyle. Finally, they went to the historically important Holy Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. The local hagiographer Fotis Kokalis presented the historicity of the area while he showed us great heirlooms and works of art. Many thanks to the Deputy Mayor of the Municipality of Messolonghi and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the museum “Vaso Katraki”, Mr. Staramos Panagiotis, and the local artists Michalis Kotsaris and Fotis Kokali for their hospitality and their sincere cooperation.
